CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-96 <br />By: Mayor Norman Musial <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW FIRE <br />PUMPER AND OTHER RELATED FIRE APPARATU5 AS DETAILED IN <br />THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FII.E, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />CONTRACT FOR THE SAME, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, in order to meet the fire fighting needs of the City, it is necessary to <br />purchase a new fire pumper and related fire apparatus, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has previously adopted Ordinance No. 2001-59 providing for <br />the issuance and sale of notes in order to fund the purchase of a fire pumper and related fire <br />apparatus, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Safety to <br />advertise for bids for the purchase of a new fire pumper and other related fire apparatus as <br />detailed in the specifications on file in the office of the Director of Public Safety, and further to <br />authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement providing for the purchase of said fire pumper and <br />fire apparatus from the lowest and best bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE50LVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Safety be and he is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids for the purchase of a new fire pumper and other related fire apparatus as <br />detailed in the specifications now on file in his office and that, upon approval by the Board of <br />Control, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder <br />for the purchase of such a new fire pumper and related fire apparatus, and execute same on behalf <br />of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that this legislation must take effect immediately because the fire fighting needs of <br />the City are involved, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it sha11 take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval <br />by the Mayor.
