CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 78 <br />BY: Councilman Duane Limpert <br />A RESOLUTION SALUTING MR. JOHN RYAN, RESIDENT OF WARD I, <br />AND THE AFLrCIO FOR THEIR LEADERSHIP ON THE MAY, 2001 <br />CLEVELAND SCHOOL DISTRICT LEVY. <br />Whereas, as the hub city of any metropolitan area goes, so does its neighboring cities. <br />Cleveland is the hub city of Northeastern Ohio. The City of Cleveland with its amenities attracts <br />commerce and new residents to the Northeastern Ohio area; and <br />Whereas, the condition of any school system and the condition of its buildings, play a <br />major roll in the ability to attract commerce and new residents to any city and the surrounding <br />suburbs; and <br />Whereas, the work and effort put forth by Mr. John Ryan (Executive Secretary of the <br />Cleveland AFL-CIO) and the Cleveland AFL-CIO played an integral role in the passage of the <br />recent Cleveland School Levy on May 8, 2001 by rallying support from Cleveland resident voters; <br />and <br />Whereas, their efforts were a masterful job, resulting in the creation of a beneficial <br />partnership of the local area's stake holders: City Government, School Authorities, Labor Officials, <br />Church Officials, Minority Interests and Residents of Cleveland; and <br />Whereas, the funds provided by this levy will not only provide a key part in revitalizing <br />Cleveland's school district, but provide jobs for skilled tradesmen, educators and facilitators, many <br />who live in North Olmsted; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OffiO: <br />Section 1: That the City Cou.ncil and the City Administration of North Olmsted <br />congratulate Mr. John Ryan and the Cleveland AFLrCIO on the successful passage of the <br />Cleveland School Levy on May 8, 2001 and appreciate the efforts expended by Mr. John Ryan and <br />the Cleveland AFL-CIO in support of the Cleveland School Levy.
