CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-61 <br />BY: MAYOR NORMAN MUSIAL AND ALL OF COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE PASSAGE OF THE <br />BALLOT ISSUE FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED SCHOOLS, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, our schools are a reflection of the City in which they function; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed 7.9 mill operating levy will provide operating funds <br />which would allow the district to operate into at least the year 2004-2005; and <br />WHEREAS, the difficulties in connection with funding for our public schools <br />today impact the City as a whole; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted recognizes the <br />importance of working together to continue the education and quality of life of our <br />youth; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Council of the City of North Olmsted urges the passage <br />of Issue 16, a 7.9 mill operating levy on Election Day, May 8, 2001. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a certified copy of this resolution to Donald Frazier, President of the North <br />Olmsted Board of Education. <br />SECTION 3: That this Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were taken in an <br />open meeting of this Council; and that all deliberations of this Council, and of any <br />committees, that resulted in those formal actions were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with law.
