CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 32 <br />BY: COUNCIL MEMBER NASHAR <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE <br />REVIEW THE INADEQUACY OF THE PARKIIVG LOT AT THE NORTH <br />OLMSTED BRANCH OFFICE, WHICH IS CAUSING A TRAFFIC SAFETY <br />PROBLEM ON LORAIN ROAD IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY OF THE <br />BRANCH OFFICE, AND, AS WELL, RESIDENT AND PATRON <br />DISSA TISFA CTION WITH THE AVAILABLE LOT, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCYAS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the parking lot for the North Olmsted Branch Post Office located at 28475 <br />Lorain Road is inadequate for the current parking needs of the North Olmsted residents and other <br />persons who utilize the services of the branch office; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has received numerous complaints from residents and other <br />patrons of the branch office concerning the difficulty they have encou.ntered at various times of <br />the day and week, attempting to enter onto, or exit from, the post office property, and in <br />attempting to find open parking spaces on the property; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council wishes to urge the United States Postal Service to review the <br />current traffic safety and parking problems at the North Olmsted branch office in order to <br />provide adequate parking for the residents of North Olmsted, and other patrons of the North <br />Olmsted Branch Post Office, and to alleviate the traffic safety problem in the vicinity of the <br />branch office; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COiJNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Council of the City of North Olmsted hereby requests that the <br />United States Postal Service review the current parking situation at the North Olmsted Branch <br />Post Office located at 28475 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, and, if the U. S. Post Office <br />fmds, as this Council has found, that a serious traffic safety problem, as well as a substantial <br />parking lot insufficiency presently eacists at the current facility, that it make every effort to <br />expand the parking facilities at the North Olmsted Branch Post Office.
