CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLiTTION NO. 2001-30 <br />BY: THE MAYOR ANID THE ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMIVV?ICNDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY <br />DANIEL K. STAREK <br />OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication to <br />organized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those participating in <br />Scouting, both the youth and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the community and the Nation, and <br />that the ideals of Scouting, the Scout Oath and the Scout Law are commitments that all citizens should <br />strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an extent <br />that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, DANIEL K. STAREK, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 630 has served his fellow <br />Scouts as an Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Chaplain Aide, Quartermaster, Assistant Senior <br />Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Junior Assistant Scoutmaster and was an Explorer Scout at NASA Glenn; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, throughout his Scouting career, DANIEL was an active camper who participated in <br />numerous weekend and summer camps as well as the 1997 National Jamboree and two week-long <br />backpacking trips to Canada; and <br />WHEREAS, during his Scouting career, DANIEL received several awards including the World <br />Conservation Award, Honorary Official All Scouts Day, Paul Bunyan Woodsman and religious awards <br />including Ad Altari Dei Emblem, Pope Pius XII Emblem and the International Awareness Award; and <br />WHEREAS, DANIEL K. STAREK, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award eamed thirty-two Merit <br />Badges; and <br />WHEREAS, as his Eagle Scout Project, DANIEL cleaned, painted and landscaped the bridge <br />from NOHS to the stadium; and <br />WHEREAS, while DANIEL was undertaking all these Scouting projects, he also participated in <br />school activities including Varsity Football, JV Varsity Football Trainer, NOHS STI`ES Program, Peer <br />Mediator, French Club, OBOBA Talent Show and community activities including volunteering at <br />Fairview Hospital ER, Foreign Exchange Student Host, Big BrotherBig Sister Program, Coats for Kids, <br />World War II Memorial Ground Breaking Ceremony in Washington, D. C., Ballroom Dance and Hunger <br />Center and was a server at his church and participated in the Youth Group; and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by DANEEL K. STAREK is a noteworthy <br />accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COiJNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OffiO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council and City Administration extend best wishes and heartiest <br />congratulations to DANIEL K. STAREK on his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this <br />Resolution to DANIEL K.
