CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-24 <br />By: Mayor Norman Musial, Councilman Thomas O'('rrady and Councilman John Dailey <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC <br />SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE INSTALLATION <br />OF AN IN-GROUND CAUTION LIGHT SYSTEM AT THE <br />CROSSWALK ON CLAGUE ROAD NEAREST TO THE <br />DRIVEWAY ENT'RANCE TO CLAGUE PARK, AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, there only exist overhead caution lights for the crosswalk on Clague <br />Road nearest to the driveway entrance to Clague Park; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council believes that providing an in-ground caution light <br />system will further draw attention of motorists to the crosswalk on Clague Road at the <br />Clague Park area and, therefore, has the potential to increase the safety of citizens who <br />use it; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council believes that the installation of an in-ground caution <br />light system at this crosswalk will enhance the effectiveness of the overhead caution <br />lights and thereby lessen the traffic safety hazard for children and adults when crossing <br />Clague Road; and <br />- WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of both this Council and the <br />Administration to have the Director of Public Service advertise for bids for the purpose of <br />entering into a contract providing for the installation of an in-ground caution light system <br />at the crosswalk on Clague Road nearest to the driveway entrance to Clague Park. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized <br />to advertise for bids for the installation of an in-ground caution light system at the <br />crosswalk on Clague Road nearest to the driveway entrance to Clague Park, in <br />accordance with specifications now on file in his office; further that the bids be reviewed <br />if required, and the most responsive and responsible bid be subject to the approval by the <br />Board of Control; and further that the Mayor, upon approval of the Board of Control, if <br />required, be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract and execute same on behalf <br />of the City of North Olmsted.
