CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-23 <br />BY: MAYOR NORMAN T. MUSIAL <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PUBLIC SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF A BIOSOLIDS TRANSPORTATION TRAILER <br />FOR THE WASTEWATER DIVISION, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted awarded a Biosolids Transportation and <br />Disposal Contract on March 3, 2000 to Browning-Ferris Industries, Inc. hauling and <br />disposing of the dewatered biosolids generated by the Wastewater Treatment Plant; and <br />WHEREAS, the March 3, 2000 Biosolids Transportation and Disposal Contract <br />allows the City of North Olmsted to use City employees and equipment to transport some <br />or all of the dewatered biosolids generated by the Wastewater Treatment Plant to either <br />the Browning-Ferris Industries, Inc. disposal site or another disposal site; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted purchased a semi-tractor in the amount <br />of $68,102 under the 2000 Budget Authorization for use in having City personnel <br />transport some or all of the dewatered biosolids generated by the Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant starting as early as possible in 2001; and <br />WHEREAS, the transportation by City personnel of some or all of the dewatered <br />biosolids generated by the Wastewater Treatment Plant will provide the City of North <br />Olmsted with an environmentally sound method of transporting the dewatered biosolids <br />at a lesser cost; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has included the costs for acquiring said <br />biosolids transportation trailer in the 2001 Budget Authorization. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OffiO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to advertise for <br />bids for a biosolids transportation trailer for use at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Upon <br />approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor be and is hereby authorized and directed to <br />enter into a Contract far same.
