r <br />~~..~.~ <br />~~ r <br />~" <br />/, <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0.97-122 <br />BY: COUNCILMAN MUSIAL <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING NEW CHAPTER 133 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE <br />CODE OF THE CITY OFNORTH OLMSTED, ENTITLED "INTERIMDIRECTOR <br />APPOINTMENTS, "AND DECLARING ANEMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted provides that the terms of office of <br />directors of departments appointed by the Mayor shall automatically end upon the Mayor leaving <br />office; and <br />WHEREAS, the potential for vacancies in said director level offices exists until such time as <br />the incoming new Mayor is able to make new permanent appointments to said director-level <br />positions; and <br />WHEREAS', in past administrations, mayors at times have been unable or unwilling to retain <br />directors from prior administrations for a specific time period, because of the lack of legislation <br />specifically addressing the subject; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to create interim director positions not to exceed one year <br />in order to provide for continuity in the administration of vital governmental services to the residents <br />of the City of North Olmsted, and to, at the same time, provide the incoming Mayor with sufficient <br />time to locate and appoint permanent directors; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1 That there is hereby created new Chapter 133 of the City of North Olmsted <br />Administrative Code, entitled "Interim Director Appointments," which new chapter shall read in its <br />entirety as is set forth in attached Exhibit A, all of the provisions of which are incorporated herein by <br />reference. <br />Sectior~~. That this Ordinance is hereby declazed to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfaze, and for the <br />further reasons that it is immediately necessary to provide for continuity in director level <br /> <br />
