;;~; CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 97-118 BY: Councilman George Nashar AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED BY PROVIDING FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A STOP SIGN AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF MAPLE RIDGE ROAD AND WEST 231st STREET INTERSECTION (REGULATING EASTBOUND TRAFFIC ON MAPLE RIDGE ROAD) AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is in the best interest of public safety, health and welfare of the citizens of the City of North Olmsted to install a stop sign at the southwest corner of Maple Ridge Road and West 231st Street intersection (regulating eastbound traffic on Maple Ridge Road), and, WHEREAS, it is the belief of this Council that the lack of this stop sign is a safety hazard; and WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traffic Control File, which said file can be amended only by Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and it is hereby authorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon the installation of stop signs at the southwest corner of Maple Ridge Road and West 231st Street intersection (regulating eastbound traffic on Maple Ridge Road). SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause said stop sign to be installed in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance. SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to protect the residents, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote oftwo-thirds of all members of Council, it shall go into immediate force and effect upon its signing by the Mayor.
