;;~; <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 97-118 <br />BY: Councilman George Nashar <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED BY PROVIDING FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A STOP SIGN <br />AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF MAPLE RIDGE ROAD AND WEST 231st <br />STREET INTERSECTION (REGULATING EASTBOUND TRAFFIC ON MAPLE <br />RIDGE ROAD) AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is in the best interest of public safety, health and <br />welfare of the citizens of the City of North Olmsted to install a stop sign at the southwest corner <br />of Maple Ridge Road and West 231st Street intersection (regulating eastbound traffic on Maple <br />Ridge Road), and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the belief of this Council that the lack of this stop sign is a safety hazard; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traffic Control <br />File, which said file can be amended only by Ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: <br />That the Police Department be and it is hereby authorized and directed to amend the <br />Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon the installation of <br />stop signs at the southwest corner of Maple Ridge Road and West 231st Street <br />intersection (regulating eastbound traffic on Maple Ridge Road). <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause said <br />stop sign to be installed in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further <br />reason that it is immediately necessary to protect the residents, and further provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote oftwo-thirds of all members of Council, it shall go into <br />immediate force and effect upon its signing by the Mayor. <br /> <br />
