~r <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0.97-59 <br />BY: Mayor Boyle <br />~~,. <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT, <br />AND RELATED GROUND COVER AND LANDSCAPING FOR A DESIGNATED <br />AREA OF NORTH OLMSTED'S CLAGUE PARK, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council recognizes that a playground area has been absent from <br />Clague Park for some time, and this playground is being planned in accordance with the <br />Master Plan, and <br />WHEREAS, the money from the sale of Deerfield Recreation area has been <br />designated for renovations at Clague Park, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public <br />Safety to advertise for bids for the purchase of playground equipment and related ground <br />cover and landscaping for a designated area of Clague Park. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Safety be and she is hereby authorized <br />to advertise for bids for the purchase of playground equipment and related ground cover <br />and landscaping for a designated area of Clague Park which shall be in accordance with <br />specifications now on file in her office. Upon approval by the Board of Control, the <br />Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute same on behalf of the City of <br />North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That funds generated from the sale of Deerfield will be used to <br />satisfy the contract for playground equipment. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and <br />for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to coordinate this project with <br />existing projects being performed at the park, and further provided it received the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and <br />be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
