<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 97 - 45 <br />BY: Duane Limpert <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF <br />A "NO RIGHT TURN ON RED" SIGN AT LORAIN AND BROOKPARK ROADS <br />REGULATING TRAFFIC TRAVELING IN A NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION <br />ON LORAIN ROAD AND TURNING IN AN EASTERLY DIRECTION ON <br />BROOKPARK ROAD, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the safety, <br />health, and welfare of the City of North Olmsted to prohibit the turning on red at Lorain <br />Road northeasterly bound where the same intersects with Brookpark Road, eastbound, <br />full-time. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traffic <br />Control File, which said file can be amended only by Ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and the same is hereby authorized and <br />directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate <br />thereon the installation of a "No Right Turn on Red" sign at the intersection of Lorain <br />Road and Brookpark Road, as aforesaid. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause said <br />"No Right Turn on Red" sign to be installed in accordance with the Provisions of this <br />Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote oftwo-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
