•. a S CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0.97-34 BY: Mayor Ed Boyle AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH WITHIN THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND GROUP A "HOT.~L/MOTEL TAX FUND" OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR RECEIPT OF HOT.EI./MOTEL TAXMONIES AND RELATED EXPENDITURES FOR SAFETYEQUIPMEN7; AND DECLARING ANF.MERGENCY. WHEREAS, Council previously adopted Ordinance No. 90-67, which established a hoteUmotel tax; and WHEREAS, Council previously adopted Ordinance No. 90-108, which designated the distribution of the hoteUmotel tax; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to modify Ordinance No. 90-108 to make a provision for the expenditure of funds for capital improvements within the Safety Department -- Police and Fire Divisions. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That there is hereby created a Hotel/Motel Tax Fund within the Special Revenue Fund Group to account for the City's hotel and motel tax revenues and related expenditures for Safety Department Equipment and capital improvements. SECTION 2: That on an annual basis fifteen percent (15%) of the fund as aforesaid may be used for either capital improvements or the payment of debt service for capital improvements within the divisions of police and fire of the Safety Department of the City of North Olmsted, and that the remainder of said funds shall be utilized for equipment expenditures within the Safety Department for use in the divisions of fire and police. SECTION 3: That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby duetted to establish a Hotel/Motel Tax Fund and to record receipts and expenditures consistent with this Ordinance. SECTION 4: That the Clerk of Council shall immediately forward an attested copy of this Ordinance to the Auditor of Cuyahoga County and the Auditor of the State of Ohio.
