<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 97 - 29 <br />BY: COUNCILMAN DUANE LIMPERT <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYSTEM AT THE INTERSECTION OF PORTER ROAD <br />AND MILL ROAD AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council and the Administration have determined that it is in the best <br />interest of public safety to install a traffic signal system at the intersection of Porter Road <br />and Mill Road in conjunction with the Mill Road widening Issue 2 Project. <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council and Administration to amend the Traffic <br />Control File to provide for the installation of said traffic control signal system; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traffic <br />Control File, which said file can be amended only by Ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCII. OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and it is hereby authorized and directed to <br />amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate therein the <br />installation of a traffic signal system as aforesaid. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to have the proper <br />department cause said traffic signal system to be installed in accordance with the terms of <br />this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further <br />reason that it is immediately necessary to correct a traffic problem which exists at said <br />intersection and further provided it received the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />.>......_ x~.,., , . _.. <br />
