JOB CLASSIFICATION LIFT STATION <br />ATTENDANT <br />RESPONSiBLE TO <br />NATURE OF WORK: <br />SANITARY SEWER <br />SUPERVISOR <br />This is a responsible semi-skilled mechanical and manual labor work which is <br />physically demanding in nature. <br />Work involves maintenance of overflows, meter chambers, pumping stations, <br />and ejector stations as directed by the Systems Foreman, Assistant Superintendent- <br />Systems, or Superintendent. <br />EXAMPLES OF WORK: <br />• Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of wastewater pumping <br />stations and ejector stations. <br />• As required, painting of pumping and ejector stations, inside and out; painting af <br />meter boxes and meter poles; and any other painting to related structures as <br />assigned. <br />• Operates a variety of standard construction and maintenance equipment; such <br />a s, c o m p ressors, air blowers, portable generators, dril{s, and ather machines as <br />required and as a necessary adjunct to normal duties. <br />• As required, keeps records of all work performed; reports need for material and <br />equipment where and when needed. <br />• As required, cleaning; such as, washing walls and windows in pumping stations <br />or where assigned. <br />• Assists Systems Foreman in repairs to meter chambers, overflows, pumping <br />stations, and ejector stations as required. <br />• Work can be characterized by assignment to rotating shifts where needed or as <br />ordered by the Superintendent. <br />• Subject to 24-hour call during emergency situations. <br />• Performs related work as required. <br />75 <br />
