CITY OF NORTH OI,MSTED <br />ORI?INANCE NO. 98-119 <br />BY: MAYOR NORMAN MUSIAL <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING NEW SECTION 151.03, ENTITLED <br />"COMPENSATION TO BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS 1VIEMBER5," OF THE <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED. <br />WHEREAS, the members of the Board of Zoning Appeals, in connection with reviewing <br />pending variance requests, routinely use their own personal vehicles to visit property sites <br />associated with variance requests; and <br />WHEREAS, the City, as well as surrounding neighbors, benefit by this voluntary and <br />responsible acdvity by Board members, which helps to assure that variances requested are in fact <br />supported by demonstrable practical difficulty; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to provide some reasonable compensation to <br />Board members in order to reimburse their expenditure of personal funds for City business and <br />to encourage them to continue visiting property sites in connection with the performance of their <br />duties as members of the Board; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTIONI: That there be and hereby is created new Section 151.03 of the Administrative <br />Code. Said new section shall be entitled and in its entirety shall read as follows: <br />"151.03. COMPENSATION TO BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS MEMBERS. <br />Each member of the Board of Zoning Appeals sha11 receive compensation for use of his <br />or her personal vehicle to visit property sites in connection with the performance of his or her <br />duties as a Board member in the amount of Ten Dollars ($10.00) per month; provided, however, <br />that a Board member shall not receive this compensation in any month in which he or she has not <br />attended the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board. <br />SECTION 2: That any Ordinance or parts of any Ordinance in conflict or inconsistent <br />with any provision of this Ordinance are, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, <br />repealed. <br />
