<br />exceeds two inches (2"). Said signs shall be posted at the entrance ways to the City on every <br />city street, which traverses the city limits, at a location on each said street which is readily <br />visible to motorists immediately as they enter the City limits. In addition, the Police <br />Department is further authorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control File to indicate <br />thereon the removal of all individual street signs the retention of which will no longer be <br />required in light of the installation of city entrance way signs notifying motorists of the <br />foregoing city-wide parking bans. <br />SECTION 3: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause said <br />signs to be installed and removed, as appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of this <br />Ordinance. Said city entrance way signs shall be installed no earlier than 7anuary 1, 1999, and <br />enforcement of the city-wide ban against parking on the hydrant-side of street sha11 not <br />commence until thirty days after said signs are installed. <br />SECTION 4: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that it is immediately necessary to establish a city-wide ban against parking on <br />the hydrant side of city streets in order to alleviate traffic obstructions and promote traffic <br />safety, and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of a11 members <br />of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by <br />the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />A?ST.• <br />? <br />BARBARA L.
