<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTTON NO. 98- 86 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND ALL MEMBERS OF COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTTON COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY PATRICK S. <br />COLEMAN OF THE EAGLE SCOUT A WARD IN BOY SCOUTING. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and this Council recognize and reaffirm their dedication to organizecl scouting; ancl <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor aixi this Council further recognize that those participating in scouting, both the youths <br />and their leaclers, are invaluable assets to the conununity and to this nation, and that the ideals of scouting, the Scout Law, <br />and the Scout Pledge are cominitments that all citizens in this country should strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been so committed ro scouting that he achieves the rank of <br />Eagle Scout, it is tnily a notewoithy accomplislunent; and <br />WHEREAS, Patrick S. Coleman, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 630, has served lus fellow scouts as Assistant <br />Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster; and <br />WHEREAS, Patrick S. Coleman, in the course of achieving his Eagle Scout award, exrnecl 31 merit badges; <br />atxl <br />WHEREAS, Patrick S. Coleman was an honorary official at All Scouts Day during the years 1996, 1997 and <br />1998, holding the positions of Ward 4 Council Member, Clerk of Council, and Council Member At Large; and <br />WHEREAS, Patrick S. Coleman further receivecl the World Conservation Award, the Ad Altari Dei Award, <br />and the Pope Pius XII Award; and <br />WHEREAS, to demonstrate his comtnitment to the community, Patrick S. Coleman, for his Eagle Project, built <br />a storage shecl and pxintect the outdoor swing equipment at tlie North Olmsted Horizons Center; and <br />WHEREAS, Patrick S. Coleman has spent rnuneroiu weekencl and summer camps with the Boy Scouts, xs well <br />as week-long backpacking trips to Canxda sxnci to the 1997 National Jaunboree; and <br />WHEREAS, Patrick S. Coleman has fiirther received numerous school awards, including NOHS Top Scholar, <br />Science Scholar Awanl, Preside,nt's Award of Acaclemic Excellence, Ohio Award of Merit, National Merit Commencled <br />Shxknt, Acacleanic Letter with 3 Chevrons, arxi Honors Diploma; and fitrther participated in Artisans, Science Olympiad, <br />Theatre and Orchestra; and <br />WHEREAS, Patrick S. Coleman has further demonstratecl his commitment to his church by being an Altar <br />Server and a youth group member; and <br />WHEREAS, Patrick S. Coleman has further shown dedication and commitment to his community by <br />volunteering at the St. Ignatius Hunger Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by Patrick S. Coleman is a singularly noteworthy <br />accompiishment deserving the admiration ancl congratulations of the entire North Olmstecl Community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SF.(.'TInN 1: That the Mayor and this Council extend their best wishes and their lieartwarruing congratulations <br />to Patrick S. Coleman upon the occasion of his achievement of the rank of Eaele Scout in Troop 630 of the Boy Scouts <br />of America. <br />SF.C.770N 2_ That the Clerk of Council be, and she hereby is, directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to <br />Patrick S.
