between the end of the shift and the start of such duty counted as time worked towazd the <br />minimum established overtime pay. <br />6.8. Any member of the bargaining unit who is ordered to duty but subsequently <br />released prior to reporting shall receive pay for one hour. <br />6.9 The employer realizes that employees are permitted ta schedule time off for <br />vacations and paid holidays. The employer will do everything possible to see that the <br />employee will get time off that is picked in accordance with department policy as <br />established by the Chief of Police. The employer will not cancel, except in an <br />emergency, any time picked during the original vacation and paid holiday picks. <br />The employer also realizes that employees may take other vacation time and paid <br />holidays that are not addressed above. In addition, time off is permitted in the form of <br />overtime off and unused sick leave time off. The employer will do everything possible <br />to see that the employee will get this time off except in an emergency, as long as this <br />request does not fall into the category of being teimed a short time request. <br />For the purpose of this agreement, a short time request is when there are ten (10) <br />or less calendaz days between the date requested off and when the request was made. <br />Any time requested that is a short time request is subject to cancellation by the employer <br />during the ten (10) day period to include the requested date its self. <br />To provide fairness to all employees, any form of time off requested and approved <br />will not be canceled or changed without written approval from the Chief of Police or his <br />designee. <br /> <br />(6) <br />
