? <br /> <br />1163.12 BUSINESS SIGNS - NUMBER, LOCATTON AND AREA REGULATIONS <br />(a) Wall Signg,. One idernification wall sign may be permitted for each separate business <br />use. The maximum sign face area of a single wall sign shall be deternuned by the formula in Section <br />1163.11, however, a single wa11 sign shall not exceed seventy-five square feet in sign face area and <br />four feet in vertical dimension. <br />(b) Pylon and Ground Sigm Business uses may be pernutted either one pylon or one <br />ground identification sign in accordance with the following provisions: <br />Ground and pylon signs shall be not less than twenty-five feet from the side lot line <br />and not less than 100 feet from any Residential District line. A ground sign sha11 be set back a <br />minimum of five feet from the street right-of-way line. A pylon sign shall be set back a minimum of <br />ten feet from the street right-of-way line. No ground or pylon sign shall be allowed within a triangle <br />formed between points on the street right-of-way line and nearest edge of an intersecting drive within <br />thirty-five feet from their intersection. <br />The maximum single face sign area sha11 not exceed fifty squaxe feet for any ground <br />sign; and sixty-five squaze feet for any pylon sign. <br />The maximum height of a ground and pylon sign shall be five feet and eight feet <br />respectively. <br />(c) PjQjectinQ Sis. One projecting identification sign may be attached to the building <br />wall of each business use. Projecting signs shall be set back from the end of a building and party wa11 <br />line for a distance of at least ten feet. The maximum single sign face area of any projecting sign shall <br />not exceed nine square feet. The lowest member of any projecting sign shall be not less than eight <br />feet above the sidewalk grade. <br />(d) Cano?,y or Covered Walk Sig. One canopy or covered walk identification sign may <br />be attached to the soflit or fascia of a canopy or roof over a walkway structural member of each <br />business use. However, the vertical dimension of such signs shall not exceed eighteen inches and the <br />lowest member shall be not less than eight feet above the sidewalk grade. <br />(e) Directional Signs. Directional signs indicating traffic routes may be permitted in <br />addition to the other signs permitted and in excess of the other limitations of this chapter, provided <br />that no such sign exceeds three square feet in a single face sign area or is closer than fifteen feet to <br />any side lot line or ten feet to any street right-of-way line, and provided that no directional sign <br />exceeds three feet in height. <br />( fl TemnQ= Prqject? One temporary project ground sign not exceeding thirty-two <br />square feet in single face sign area and five feet in height shall be permitted if it is located on the lot <br />of a proposed building or a building under construction. Such project sign sha11 be located not less <br />than 100 feet from the nearest residential lot line and not less than twenty-five feet from the nearest <br />nonresidential lot and street right-of-way line. Permits for such signs shall be for a period not <br />exceeding one year. However, such pernuts may be renewed while construction is pursued diligently. <br />2
