<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 90-162 <br />BY: Councilman Thomas P. 0'Gradp <br />A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING NOVEMBER 25, 1990 THROUGH <br />DECEMBER 1, 1990 AS WINTER SAFETY WEEK. <br />WHEREAS, The State of Ohio has experienced many snow <br />emergencies, including the blizzard of 1978, which left 66 <br />dead and resulted in millions of dollars in damage; and <br />WHEREAS, many people die needlessly each winter <br />because they do not heed or are not aware of winter safety <br />precautions that could save their lives; and <br />WHEREAS, community awareness, preparedness and <br />planning for such threats of blizzards, ice and snow storms <br />can result in the saving of lives and the prevention of <br />injury especially among the handicapped, senior citizens, <br />the indigent and homeless. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That it is the desire of this Council to <br />join Governor Richard F. Celeste and the Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Commissioners in proclaiming November 25 through <br />December 1 as Ohio Winter Safety Week. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and <br />be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by <br />law. <br />PASSED : 0c ) <br />-?? <br />ATTEST: <br />,a <br />Xe, <br />' <br />' Florence C pbell, James D.
