Vacation leave may be carried over from one year <br />to the next, but in no event, shall an employee carry more vacation from one year to the next <br />in excess of the amount of vacation earned in the pnor year, and then, only, upon the approval <br />of the employee's immediate supervisor. An employee may be paid for carry over vacation <br />time in lieu of time off provided, however, that approval therefor is obtained from the employ- <br />ee's immediate supervisor and, in any event, all employees must take a minimum of five unin- <br />terrupted days off each year. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfaze, and for the <br />further reason that it is immediately necessary to provide non-bargaining unit employees with a <br />benefit enjoyed by their union counterparts and further provided it recerves the affirmative vote <br />of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall go into immediate force and effect <br />upon its si ning by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: 1_^? 0 <br />ATTEST <br />? <br />FLORENCE E.
