? <br />? <br />, <br />BY: ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 90- 114 <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE ELEC- <br />TORS OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO OF AN AMENDMENT <br />TO THE CHARTER, CREATING NEW ARTICLE XVI, ENTITLED <br />"NONSUBSTANTIVE CHARTER LANGUAGE", AS RECOMMENDED BY <br />THE CHARTER REVIEW COMMISSION, AND DECLARING AN EMER- <br />GENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Review Commission of the City of North Olmsted, <br />appointed pursuant to Article XIV of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, <br />has filed its report of recommended amendments to the Charter with this Coun- <br />cil; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council deems it appropriate to submit the within proposal <br />to the electors for their consideration at the General Election to be held <br />within the City on November 6, 1990. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO, TWO-THIRDS OF ALL MEMBERS <br />CONCURRING: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council hereby authorizes and directs the <br />submission to the electors of the City of North Olmsted at the General Elec- <br />tion to be held at the usual places of votinq in said City on Tuesday, Novem- <br />ber 6, 1990, the following separate proposal to amend the Charter of the City <br />of North Olmsted: <br />Proposal: That the Charter be amended to create new Article XVI enti- <br />tled "Nonsubstantive Charter Language", which would provide a mechanism for <br />correcting, deleting, or modifyinq nonsubstantive language within the Charter, <br />which reflects typographical errors, obsolete historical references, etc. <br />Such new proposed Article XVTvshall-read as follows: <br />Article XVI <br />Nonsubstantive Charter Lanquage <br />SECTION 1. PURPOSE. <br />It is recoqnized that, from time to time, this Charter has been <br />found to contain typoqraphical errors, obsolete historical refer- <br />ences and other language which is nonsubstantive and which may be <br />corrected, deleted or modified without substantively affectinq the <br />powers granted to or the duties imposed upon the City by the Char- <br />ter.
