Page 18 <br /> <br />ARTICLE XVIII <br />PARAMEDIC PAY <br />Each Employee who is licensed by the State of Ohio as a <br />certified paramedic shall be paid a$650 bonus for 1990, <br />a$675 bonus for 1991 and a$700 bonus for 1992, on or <br />before the 15th of December. Compensation for licensed <br />certified paramedics runs from December 15 to December 14 <br />of each qear. It shall be calculated on a pro rata basis <br />for those who, during the year, retire, and for those <br />individuals newly hired or completing paramedic training <br />between December 15 and December 14 of each year. The <br />provision of this article shall not be applicable to the <br />Fire Prevention Personnel. <br />ARTICLE XIX <br />HEALTH BENEFITS <br />19.1 The City shall pay the full amount of hospitalization costs <br />for all full-time employees and their dependents with <br />either Blue Cross and Medical Mutual or other comparable <br />commercial health programs. Any other commercial plan <br />obtained by the Employer shall provide benefits that are <br />at least equal to or better than the current health care plan. <br />By Agreement of the parties, the City shall provide the <br />above coverage from January 1, 1990 through December 31, 1991. <br />Thereafter, during the second year of the contract if the <br />cost of hospitalization exceeds 15% or $344.75 per month, <br />per Employee, of the prior yearly cost, ($299.79 x 15% _$344.75) <br />then the contract shall be reopened for the purpose of <br />reaching agreement on the subject of hospitalization only. <br />Additionally, during the third year of the contract, if <br />the cost of hospitalization exceeds 15% or $396.47 per <br />month, per Employee of the prior yearly cost ($344.75 <br />x 15% _$396.47) then the contract shall be reopened for <br />the purpose of reaching agreement on the subject of <br />hospitalization only. <br />If the City seeks to reopen Article 19 during the second <br />and third year of the Agreement, it shall notify the <br />Association and SERB in writing and delivered by Certified <br />U.S. t4ai1 not later than September 1 of each year, of its <br />desire to modify Article 19. The postmark date shall <br />control the issue of timeliness. <br />19.2 All Employees shall receive $10,000 in life insurance paid <br />for by the Empldyer. <br />19.3 Dental Insurance for full-time Employees with at least <br />one (1) full year of service will be available through <br />Blue Shield and have as some of its features a$25.00 <br />deductible per person per calendar year together with an <br />annual maximum of $1,000 payable per covered person during <br />any benefit year.
