i ? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92- 137 <br />BY: PATRICIA BAHAS, DEAN MCKAY and <br />JANET SARINGER <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF <br />OHIO TO ACT UPON AND ADOPT SENATE BILL 11 <br />WHICH PROVIDES FOR THE PROHIBITION OF THE <br />ISSUANCE OR RENEWAL OF LIQUOR PERMITS <br />AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF BEER, WINE, AND MIXED <br />BEVERAGES AT PREMISES WHERE GASOLINE OR ANY <br />OTHER MOTOR VEHICLE FUEL IS SOLD OR OFFERED <br />FOR SALE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council believes that the policy of permitting the sale of alcoholic <br />beverages from gasoline service stations is inappropriate and contributes to alcohol consumption <br />and the operation of motor vehicles while under the influence of alcohol; and <br />WHEREAS, there is presently pending before the Ohio Senate, Senate Bill No. 11 <br />which, if adopted, would amend the Ohio Revised Code dealing with the issuance of liquor <br />permits by prohibiting the issuance or renewal of liquor permits to premises where gasoline or <br />other motor vehicle fuel is sold or offered for sa1e; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council urges the Ohio Senate to adopt Senate Bill 11 to control the <br />issuance of liquor permits as aforesaid. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby urge the Ohio State Senate to adopt Senate <br />Bill 11 which is currently pending before the 119th General Assembly. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to send a certified <br />copy of this Resolution to Senators Suhadolnik, 7ohnson and Nettle. <br />SECTION 3: That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, health and safety of city <br />residents, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of
