., <br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />Ordinance No. 92 - 133 <br />By: Councilmen McKav and Nashar <br />AN pRDINANCE TO AMQID SDLTION 911.12, USE OF PUBLIC SF1,TIItS, OF 7BE QODIFIID <br />ORDIlJANCM OF 7H5 CI1Y OF NORZS OIMSTED. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, County of <br />and State of Ohio that: <br />SECTION 1: Section 911.12 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North <br />Olmsted , Ohio, which now reads as follows: <br />"911.12 USE OF PUBLIC SEWERS <br />(a) No person shall 'scharge or cause to be discharged any stormwater, <br />surface water, ground water, roof runoff, subsurface drainage, <br />uncontaminated cooling water or unpolluted industrial process waters to <br />any sanitary sewer. <br />(b) Stormwater, surface drainage, subsurface drainage, groundwater, roof <br />runoff, cooling water and all other unpolluted drainage shall be <br />discharged to such sewers as are specifically designated as storm sewers <br />or to a natural outlet approved by the City Engineer. Industrial cooling <br />water or tmpolluted processed waters may be discharged, an approval of <br />the City Engineer, to a storm sewer or natural outlet. No persons shall <br />use any such sewers without first having obtained the consent and permits <br />from the City Engineer. <br />(c) No person shall discharge or cause to be discharged any of the following <br />described waters or wastes into any public sewers: <br />1. Any wastewater having a temperature which will inhibit biological <br />activity in the POTW treat plant resulting in interference; but in no <br />case, wastewater with a temperature at the introduction into POTW <br />which exceeds forty degrees Centigrade, 104 degrees Fahrenheit. <br />2. Any ga.soline, benzene, naphtha, fuel oil, or other flammable or <br />explosive liquids, solids or gases which by reason of their nature or <br />quantity are or may be sufficient, either alone or by interaction, to <br />cause fire or explosion or be injurious in any other way to the <br />operation of the POT[nT. Under no circumstances shall the flashpoint <br />of any discharge be less than 140 degrees Fahrenheit or 60 degrees <br />Centigrade as measured using the closed cup test method specified in <br />40 CFR 261.21. <br />3. Any discharge of petroleum oil, nonbiodegradable cutting oil or <br />products of mineral oil origin in amounts that can cause interference <br />or pass through; but in no case, water or wastes containing free <br />oils, emulsified oils and grease exceeding an average of one hundred <br />parts per million or 833 pounds per million gallons, of ether soluble <br />. <br />ma.tter.
