<br />CITY OF NORZH OIMS'TED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-56 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COP?NDING THE ACHIEVIINIINTS BY <br />JEFFREY ROBERT BLANKIlVBURG <br />IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their <br />dedication to organized Scouting; and <br />WBEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those <br />participating in Scouting, both the youths and their leaders, are an invaluable <br />asset to the community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the <br />Scout Law and the Scout Pledge are commitments that all citizens should strive <br />for; and <br />WBEREAS, when ane of our young citizens ha.s been committed to Scouting to <br />such an extent tha.t he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy <br />accomplishment; and <br />WBEREAS, JEFFREY ROBERT BLANKENBURG, a member of Boy Scout Troop 53, has <br />served his troop as Librarian, Den Chief, Assistant Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, <br />and is currently serving as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader; and <br />WBEREAS, JEFFREY ROBERT BLANKIINBURG was elected by his fellow Scouts to the <br />Order of the Arrow, an honorary campers organization of the Boy Scouts of <br />America, and is presently an Ordeal member of Cuyahoga Lodge #17; and <br />WHEREAS, JEFFREY ROBERT BLANKIINBURG has attended two years of summer camp <br />at Camp Avery Hand, two years at Camp Merz in New York, and Tirmerman Canoe Base <br />in Canada where he earned the "50 Miler" canoeing award; and <br />WBEREAS, JEFFREY ROBERT BLANKENBURG, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award <br />earned twenty-five Merit Badges; and <br />WBEREAS, with his Eagle project he greatly benefited the children of Pine <br />Elementary School by compiling a book of games and activities that the teachers <br />could use with their classes and, with the help of his fellow Scouts, painted a <br />20' x 30' map of the United States on the school playground; and <br />in1TiFRFAS, JEFFREY ROBERT BLANKIlVBURG has shown a deep commitment to his <br />commuriity by volunteering as a camp counselor for the North Olmsted Playground <br />Program, volunteering as a Swinuning Instructor, becoming certified in Red Cross <br />First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard Training, and is currently employed as a life- <br />guard; and <br />WBEREAS, while JEFFREY was undertaking a11 these Scouting projects, he also <br />was an active member of Dover Congregational Church, participating in the church <br />choir and Senior Youth Group; and
