<br />,.?.. ? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 96 - 62 <br />BY: David Lind <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3), SIX PASSENGER, <br />FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES TO BE USED BY THE MAYOR, SAFETY <br />DIRECTOR AND SERVICE DIRECTOR. <br />WHEREAS, this Council recognizes that the automobiles presently being used by the <br />Mayor, Safety Director and Service Director have accumulated a great many miles and are <br />presently obsolete for purposes of utilizing said vehicles for administrative purposes, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for the purchase of three (3) new automobiles which will be used by the <br />Mayor, Safety Director and Service Director. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids for the purchase of three (3) 1997 automobiles to be used by the Mayor, Safety <br />Director and Service Director, which shall be in accordance with specifications now on file in his <br />office, and that said specifications include the trade-in of two (2) 1992 Oldsmobiles. One (1) <br />1992 Chevrolet Lumina shall not be traded-in but shall be transferred to the Fire Prevention <br />Bureau for use. Upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a <br />contract and execute same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is immediately necessary to replace the existing automobiles being used by <br />the Mayor, Safety Director and Service Director which are obsolete because of excessive <br />mileage, and further provided it received the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval <br />by the Mayor.
