ORDINANCE NO. 96-6 <br />BY: COUNCILMAN MUSIAL <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADDITIQN OF <br />THE JOHN KNOX CHURCH DRIVE TO THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL <br />SYSTEM AT THE INTERSECTION OF LORAIN ROAD AND GREAT <br />NORTHERN BOULEVARD AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council and the Administration have determined that it is in the <br />best interest of public safety to make an addition of the John Knox Church drive <br />to the traffic signal system at the intersection of Lorain Road and Great Northern <br />Boulevard. <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council and Administration to amend the <br />traffic control file to provide for the installation of said traffic control signal <br />system; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of <br />the Traffic Control File, which said file can be amended only Ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and it is hereby autharized and <br />directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to <br />indicate therein the installation of a traffic signal system as aforesaid. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to have the proper <br />department cause said traffic sign system to be installed in accordance with the <br />terms of this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That, this Ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to correct a <br />traffic problem which exists at said intersection and further provided it received <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
