.?. <br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 96- 5 <br />BY: COUNCILMAN M IAL <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION <br />OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYSTEM AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE <br />NEW FIRE STATION NO. 1(24291 LORAIN ROAD) AND LORAIN <br />ROAD AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council and the Administration have determined that it is in the <br />best interest of public safety to install a traffic signal system at the intersection of <br />the new Fire Station No. 1 (24291 Lorain Road) and Lorain Road. <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council and Administration to amend the <br />traffic control file to provide for the installation of said traffic control signal <br />system; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of <br />the Traffic Control File, which said file can be amended only Ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and it is hereby authorized and <br />directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to <br />indicate therein the installation of a traffic signal system as aforesaid. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to have the proper <br />department cause said traffic sign system to be installed in accordance with the <br />terms of this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That, this Ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to correct a <br />traffic problem which exists at said intersection and further provided it received <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
