<br />. . ? <br />Ordinance No. 96-105 <br />page 12 <br />for fire fighting purposes are available as determined by the Fire Chief. If the Fire Chief finds, <br />upon inspection of any building under construction, that adequate water supply or facilities for fire <br />fighting purposes, as determined by the Chief, are not being furnished as required, then the <br />Building Commissioner shall stop such construction and revoke the permit previously issued <br />therefor until such time as adequate water supply or facilities for fire fighting purposes, as <br />determined by the Chief are furnished. <br />1701.20 SMOKE BARRIERS AND DOORS. <br />In the buildings of more than two occupied floors, smoke barriers shall be installed in any <br />corridor more than 150 feet in length, or at intervals of not more than 150 feet. Smoke barriers <br />and doors therein shall be of noncombustible materials or wood doors conforming to the Ohio <br />Basic Building Code. Swinging doors shall be used and where normally kept in the open position <br />shall be equipped to be closed manually and with smoke actuated devices; otherwise such doors <br />shall be self-closing. They shall close the opening completely with only such clearance as is <br />reasonably necessary for proper operation. When, upon inspection by the Bureau of Fire <br />Prevention, such buildings are found lacldng smoke barriers as required by this section, the Chief <br />of Fire shall order the owner of such facilities to submit plans and specifications to the Fire <br />Prevention Bureau for installation of such barriers; and shall order the installation according to <br />the approved plans. Such plans and specifications shall be submittsd within three months of receipt <br />of such order and the installation of the smoke barriers shall be completed within one year of <br />receipt of such order. <br />1701.21 BUILDING PERMIT. <br />No permit for the construction of any building sha11 be issued by the Commissioner of <br />Buildings except where adequate water supply and facilities for fire fighting purposes are available <br />as determined by the Fire Chief. If the Fire Chief finds that upon inspection of any building under <br />construction that adequate water supply or facilities for fire fighting purposes, as determined by <br />the Chief are not being furnished as required, then the Commissioner of Buildings shall stop such <br />construction and revoke the permit previously issued therefor until such time as adequate water <br />supply or facilities for fire fighdng purposes, as determined by the Fire Chief, are furnished. <br />1701.22 INTERIOR EXITS AND EXITS FROM SUITES. <br />Doors to the enclosures of interior stair exits shall be arranged to open from the stair side, <br />on every floor, so that it will be possible to leave the stair enclosure should a fire render the lower <br />part of the stair unusable during egress. All doors leading from individual suites in multiple family <br />dwellings sha11 be equipped with self-closing devices. <br />1701.23 ABOVE GROUND STORAGE TANKS. <br />Above ground storage tanks for storage of flammable and combustible liquids shall be <br />prohibited except as follows:
