op <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE ND. 96-101 <br />BY: Councilman McKay <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 171.06 OF <br />CHAPTER 171 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, <br />ENTITLED "COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT, " IN ORDER <br />TO PROVIDE A NEW PROCEDURE FOR THE REVIEW OF <br />TAX ABATEMENT APPLICATIONS, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 171 of the Administrative Code provides for Community <br />Reinvestment Areas of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to amend Section 171.06 of said Chapter 171 to <br />provide for a better and more professional review of applications for tax abatements in <br />Community Reinvestment Areas of the City; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION ONE: That Section 171.06 of Chapter 171 of the Administrative Code, <br />entitled "Applications for Exemption; Procedure," which presently reads: <br />" 171.06 APPLICATIONS FOR EXEMPTION; PROCEDURE. <br />Upon receipt of any application for exemption from real property ta7cation, the Housing <br />Officer shall forward such application to the Mayor for his review. The Housing Officer shall <br />not submit any application to the County Auditor unless and until the Mayor has approved the <br />submission to the County Auditor of such application. The Mayor is hereby authorized to <br />enter into agreements with applicants for the exemptions from real property taxation available <br />pursuant to this chapter to establish the terms under which the application will be forwarded to <br />the County Auditor and the tax exemption applied for will be granted, including but not <br />limited to the percentage of the improvement to be exempted from real property taxation and <br />whether an payments in lieu of taxes are to be required; provided, however, no such <br />agreement sha11 permit any exemption period other than as described in Section 171.03 nor
