SARINGER <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 749.03 ENTITLED <br />"EXEMPTIONS" OF CHAPTER 749 ENTITZED "MASSAGE <br />ESTABLISHMENTS" OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, in reviewing the Codified Ordinances at Chapter 749, it has become apparent <br />that since the chapter was originally adopted, new areas of the practice of inedicine have been <br />added whereby those who are licensed by the State of Ohio practice massage; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to include language in said chapter which <br />would exempt individuals who have been issued either a license to practice medicine or a limited <br />license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 749.03 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North <br />Olmsted entitled "Exemptions" which cunently reads: <br />749.03 EXEMPTIONS <br />This chapter shall not apply to the following individuals while engaging in the personal <br />performance of the duties of their respective professions: <br />(a) Physicians, surgeons, chiropractors, osteopaths or physical therapists who are duly <br />licensed to practice their respective professions in the State. <br />(b) Nurses who are registered under the laws of the State. <br />(c) Barbers and beauticians who aze duly licensed under the laws of the Sta.te, except <br />that this exemption shall apply solely to the massaging of the neck, face, scalp and <br />hair of the customer or client for cosmetic or beautifying purposes. <br />Be the same is hereby amended, and as amended shall read as follows: <br />749.03 EXEMPTIONS <br />This chapter shall not apply to the following individuals while engaging in the personal <br />performance of the duties of their respective professions:
