<br />WAITEAS, Council has given consideration and study to the Regional. Building
<br />Code prepared by the Regional Planning Commission of Cleveland, Cuyahoga Caunty, Ohio,
<br />and has determined tha.t the adogtion thereof as the Bv.ilding Code of this city for
<br />all structures to be erected within the city, including design, construction, alter-
<br />ation, repair, removal, maintena,nce, equipment, use end occupancy, loQa.tion and
<br />desnolition of all buildi.ngs and structures, excepting therefrom one and t-vio-family
<br />dwellings, private gara,ges? sheds, barns and similar buildings and stxuctures
<br />appurtenant to one and two-family dwellings, would Y,e beneficial and protective
<br />of the public peace, health, safety and welfare oz the city, and
<br />YrHEftEAS, by adopting the aforesaid code as the Building Code af this ezty,
<br />applicable to those instances speeified in the precedi.ng paragraph of this resolution,
<br />would also assist in maintaini.n; unifarm construction of all buildings and structures
<br />covered thereby in the city and with others in the county, and which wau.ld of necessity
<br />assist contractors, developsrs and others in more efficiently adhering to a code
<br />applicable generally in the area and permi.tting a more efficient administration of
<br />the terms of said code,
<br />NOW, THL'R.?Rh, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Yiorth Olmsted,
<br />State of Ohio:
<br />Section 1: That the Council does hereby adopt as its own Building Cade the
<br />regulations identified as the Regional Building Code, prepared and publi.shed by the
<br />Regional Planning Commission of Cleveland, Cuya.hoga County, Ohio, in baok form, as
<br />the regulations gonerni.ng the construction of buildings and other structures in the
<br />city, excsepting on.e and two-family du*ellings, private garages, sheds, barns and
<br />similar buildings and structures appuxtenant to one and two-family dwellings, and
<br />it sha,ll be unlawful to fail to comply with the provisians of the Regional Building
<br />Code applying to the design, construetion, alteration, repairt removal, mai.ntenanee,
<br />equipment, use and occupancy, location and demolition of a1.1 buildings and stra.ctures
<br />within the municipality, excepting one and two-family dwellings, private garages,
<br />sheds, barns and similar buildings and structures appurtenant ta one and two-family
<br />dwellings. Copies of the Regional Buildine Code shall be kept on file in -the of'fice
<br />of the Building Commi.asioner of the City of North Olmsted and may be examined and
<br />inspected by the public at any time. A copy of said Regional Building Code raa,y be
<br />obtained from said Building Commissioner for the swn of Five Dollaxs ($S.CQ) per
<br />copy. A copy of said Regional Building Code is attached hereto and made a part
<br />hereof as though fully rewritten herein.
<br />Section 2: `Che provisions of this code sha.ll supplement all laws of the
<br />State of Ohio and all rules and regulations, promulgated by authority thereof,
<br />applicable to buildi.ngs and other structures as defined herei.n.
<br />Section 3: The provisions of this code shall supplement auch provisions
<br />of the Dwelling House Code as the Buildirg 4fficial may deem to be applicable to
<br />other buildings and structures. If in any particular case there is an appaxent
<br />difference in materials, methods of constraction or other requirements specified
<br />in the Regional Buildi.ng Code, or between the ltegion.al Building Code and the
<br />requirements of any other applicable ordinance or resolution of the rnunicipality,
<br />or rule or regulation of the Building Commissioner, the more restrictive ordinance,
<br />rule or regulation sriall govern.
