czmY oF rroxTs aLNSTEI) <br />UR:DINANCE N0. <br />By'???. e? <br />ORDINANCE ANMDTNG SECTION 1 OF QRDINANCE 3093, ENACTn <br />sEPTEM]M 6, 19609 AND DECLARZNG Ant MERGIlNCY. <br />WHERkUS, Cauncil, the Director of Public Safety and the Chief of Police <br />h^ve determined, for the more efficient and econczmical operation of the Folice <br />Department of the City of North Olmsted, that the Chief of Police, havirg been <br />heretofore epployed on a part-time basis althaugh sabject to call 24 haurs a day, <br />should be employed on a iull-time basis in the same manner as other employees of <br />the Police Department and as the Chief of the Fi.re Department, <br />NOW9 THEREFORE, BE IT OI3DAINED by the Council of the City of Alorth Olmsted, <br />State of Ohios <br />Section ls That the Chief of Police shall be employed on a full-time basis <br />as other employees of the Poliee Department of saa.d city and to otherw3.se perform a11 <br />duties incumbent upon his office as Chief of Police, effeetive November 15, 1960, and <br />tha,t thereaftez his salary as Chief of Police shall be and is hereby fixed to be at <br />the rate of $6, 956.40 aaanually. <br />Section 2s `i'h.at a11 other provisions of Ordinance 3093, enacted September <br />69 1960, shall remain in full force and effect as though fully rewritten herein. <br />Section 3s That the Director of Finance of said city shall be authorized <br />and is hereby clirected, on and after Navember 15, 1960, to pay said Chief of Police <br />at the annual rate heretofore fiyed in. Seetion 1 hereof, and that said sa.lary sha11, <br />from and after Ptovember 15, 19609 be payable semi-monthly. <br />Section 4s That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and <br />general welfare of the City of North Olmsted, and such emergency exists by virtue of <br />the inereasing demands upon the Police Department of this city due to its rapia growth, <br />and tha,t said full time employment of the Police Chief be fixed to commence at the <br />ea,rliest possibZe date, permitting a reasonable lapse of time to permit hi.m to a•rrange <br />his private af'fairs to accomodate the i.ncreased demand made upon his services. <br />Seetion 5a W2ierefore, this ordinance shall take immediate effect from and <br />after its passa,ge, otherwise, at the earlie$t period allowed by law. <br />Passed: <br />ATTEST t,, <br />ouise Ha11, Clerk of Council <br />Bruce MacDonald, Presideut of Council <br />APPROVF,,Ds . <br />Paul J.
