<br />WH{?'? i O Ordinance 2445 entitled "Loning Urdi.nancs of the City of Yvarth
<br />Olmsted,"enacted 14a,rch 19, 1957, has a p-rovision in Article IIT, Section 6, Sub-
<br />section C, that reinforced concrete sideiaalks five feet cride four i.nches thick,
<br />except in dxivewa,,ys vrhere thiclrness shall be i.ncreased to six inches, shall be
<br />installed and workmanship sha,1.1 conform to sidewalk specifications of the city, a,nd
<br />`rhich specifications generally provide that in the installation of sidewa].ks, only
<br />steel may be used, and
<br />ti0MEASI it is the desire of Council to have such xequirement amended tc
<br />permit the use of wooden forms for the installation oi sidewalks as well as steel,
<br />providing such forms a.re so placed and used -to meet the requirements heretofore
<br />established for the thickness of sin;rle course sidewalk installation,

<br />Sec-tion l: lhht the Eheineer is hereb;;i autho-rized to amend the sidetaalk
<br />specifications to pennit the use of wlooden forms as Z'reil as steel iorms i.n the
<br />construction of sidewalks, provid.i.ng that the use ol the wooden forms will be sa
<br />placed as to require the minimum thicknesses of single course sidetaalk installat'lloxi
<br />as required by the specifications and of the provisions of rlrticle III, aecti.on a,
<br />Subsection C of Ordinance 2445, enacted Tqarch 19, 1957•
<br />Section 2: lhat this a-rdinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
<br />measure necessaxy for the immediate preservation of the publia peaoe? hea,l.th, saFety
<br />and general welfare of the City af North Oluisted, and such emergency exis-ts by virtuL
<br />of the necessity to have sidewalk specifications amended to permit the installat:ion
<br />to be made by individuals whexe such installations otherwise meet a11 of the reqzzire-
<br />r.ients of the ordinances of this city ior the constxuction of sidewa,lkso
<br />Section 3= I7therefore, this ordina,nce shall take immediate eifect E'ror,1 a,nd
<br />after its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law.
