<br />WfEREAS, it has been reported to Council 'py the Safety Director that the
<br />existing mutual aid contract for fire protection between this City and the City
<br />of Westlake expires in the :nonth of klarch, 1960, and
<br />T,THEREe1S, Council has detesmined that such mutual aa.d contract for fire
<br />protection between the two m?anici-nalities should be extended for an additional
<br />period not in excess of thxee years from the expiration date of the present contract
<br />for the benefit af both municipa.Iities,

<br />State of Ohio:
<br />Section 1: That the Safety Director of t:us City is hereby directed and
<br />a,uthorized to enter into a irnztual aid contract wi-th the City of Westlake, Ohio, for
<br />a period of three yeaxs, pursuant to the powers, :requirements and limitations pro-
<br />vided in Section 717.02 of the xevised Lode, which eontract shall provide for the
<br />mutual assistance between the two municipalities :in fixe a,id and further providing
<br />that sa,id proposed a,greement is in the form approved by the Solicitor of the City.
<br />Section 2: '1'hat this resolution is hereby declaxed to be an emergency
<br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, safety, health
<br />and general welfare of the City of North Olmsted, and such emergency exists by virtue
<br />of the exi.sting contract ior mutua7, aid in fire protection bettireen the two municipal-
<br />ities ex-oiring this month, and it is desirable to retain such mutual asaistance ti•rith
<br />the City of Westlake for an additional thxee year period by a contract that will
<br />provide for the proteetion of both municipa,7.ities and set forth the rights, liabililGies,
<br />restrictions and obligations upon said contractire, munici-nalities provided for in
<br />Section 717.02 of the Revised Code. ?
<br />Section 3s Wherefore, this resolution sha11 take immediate effect fro.m an d
<br />after.its passage? otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law.
