A ktUTUAL <br />AID CONTRA{:2' WITH THE CITY OF WESTLAltE, 4IiI0, FUR IvIUT[TAL AID IN <br />POLICE PRO'1'EC'1'IuN, AND DFCLARING AZT &ISRGINCY. <br />WHEI3EA,59 it has been reported to Council by the Safety llirector that the <br />existing mutual aid contract for police protection between this City and the City <br />of Westlake expires in the month of April, 1960, and <br />W&2Y@,5, Council has determined that such mutual aid contract for police <br />protection between the two municipalities should be extended f.or an additional <br />period not in excess of three yeaxs from the exp:iration da,te ot' the present contract <br />for the benefit of both municipa.litiest <br />TlOW, '1HEREFURZ, RE IT Hk;SULVk:ll by the Coiancil of the City of North Olmsted, <br />State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That the Saf'ety Director of this City is hereby directed and <br />authorized to enter into a mutual aid contract with the City of Westlake, C?hio, for <br />a period of three yeaxs, pursuant to the powers, requirements and limitations pro- <br />vided in 5ection 737•04 of the Revised Code, which contract sha.ll provide for the <br />mutual assistance between the two municipalities in police aid and further providing <br />that said proposed agreement is in the form approved by the Solicitor of the City. <br />Section 2: That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immed:iate preservation of the public peace, safety, health <br />and general welfare of the City of North Glmsted, arid such emergency ex.ists by virtue <br />of the existing contract for mutual aid in police protection between the two municinal- <br />ities expiring next month, and it is desirable to reta,in such mutual assistance with <br />the City of Westla,ke f'or an additional three yeas period by a contract that will <br />provide for the protection of both municipalities and set forth the rights, liabiliiiest <br />restrictions and obligations upon said contracting rmxnicipa.lities provided for in <br />Section 737.04 of the Revised Code. <br />Section 3: Wherefore, this resolution sha,ll take immediate effect from a,nd <br />after its passage, otherwise, at the earliest pEriod allowed by law. <br />Passed: <br />g2.?'i' .?ST s <br />r,,. .
