-----~ _ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 2778 /~~ `~~ <br />Intxoduced by: Mrs. Lynch <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ISSUANCE BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED OF A PERMIT TO THE GREAT NORTH~N SHOPPING <br />CENTER FOR A PYROTECHNICAL DISPLAY TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 22nd, <br />1958, AND APPROVING THE PROPOSED PARADE IN COTtNECTION WITH <br />THE OPENING OF SAID SHOPPING CENTER, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Great Northern Shopping Center, in connection with <br />its formal grand opening, has planned a pyrotechnical display for <br />November 22nd, 1958 and <br />WHEREAS, in connection with said formal opening a parade has <br />been proposed to be held, passing along Lorain Road from Columbia Road <br />Westerly to the Shopping Center, and <br />WHEREAS, said Shopping Center had been advised that a permit <br />from the Mayor is necessary for the pyrotechnical display, and that such <br />a permit may be issued by the Mayor when approved by resolution of Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to issue to the <br />Great Northern Shopping Center a permit for a pyrotechnical display in <br />connection with its formal opening scheduled for the evening of November <br />22nd, 1958, and the Council hereby approves the issuance of said permit <br />by the Mayor for said display, and <br />Section 2. The Council hereby approved the holding of a proposed <br />parade in connection with the formal opening of the Shopping Center, <br />scheduled for 1:00 F.M., Saturday, November 22nd, 1958, and the routing <br />of for said proposed parade is to be along Lorain Road from Columbia Road <br />westerly to the packing area of the Great Northern Shopping Center, and <br />further, the Council approves the necessary steps be taken for the <br />protection for the parade of the particigants of said parade, with the <br />end in mind of permitting the coatiriual flow of traffic along Lorain Road <br />during the progress of said parade, <br />Section 3. Wherefore, this resolution is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare of the City of North Olmsted, and such <br />emergency exists by virtue of the necessity of immediately providing <br />the necessary permit authorizing the Great Northern Shopping Center to <br />proceed with the proposed activities in connection with its grand opening <br />scheduled for November 20th, 1958, which the Council wishes to cooperate <br />with in recognization of the facilities which said Shopping Center will <br />afford to residents of this community. <br />Section 4.
