<br />POLICE PURPOSES, AND DECLARING AN EI~ERGENCY•
<br />W ~' ,the Director of P'nblie Safety had reported to Council that
<br />the present Police cars being operated under a contract by the City~s Police
<br />Department on a rental contract basis, and which contract expires on cr about
<br />November lA, 1958, and
<br />t+~Ig~tEAS, Council upon due consideration, has d®ter~ninsd it necessary to
<br />immsediately purchase two Police vehicles to replace the ones to be returned
<br />under said rental contract November lo. 1958
<br />NOW, 1`~iEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCII, of the City of North Olmsted,
<br />State of Ohios
<br />Section is That the Director of Public Safety of the City of North Olmsted,
<br />be and he is hereby directed and suthori$ed to advertise for bids for the purchase
<br />by the City of North 07.msted of tiro 1959 4-door Sedans With 8-cylinder engines of
<br />not less than 25O H.P. each and which vehicles shall be equipped With standard
<br />transmission, oil filter, dual Windshield Washers, dual windshield wipers, fresh
<br />air heater and defroster, turn signals, two spotlights with 6~ head, left and
<br />right side view mirrors, five 6~p7~p tires including spare wheel, tiro and hack;
<br />50 ,Amp heavy duty Leec®-Neville alternator and rectifier, heavy duty fan, springs,
<br />radiator, shock absorbers and brakes, 7O Amp battery, front and rear stabilizers,
<br />and an all Vinyl interior, and that said vehicles shall not exceed the sum of
<br />X3,000.00 each, and that said bidders indicate the delivery date to the City- of
<br />said vehicles if awarded a contract for delivery of said vehic]s s.
<br />Section 2t Wherefore, this Resolution is hereby determined to be an
<br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public safety
<br />and welfare of the City of North 07.mnsted, and such emergency exists by reason of
<br />the City of North 07sested having been notified that the present rental contract
<br />for police cars now being used by the Police Department of said City expires and
<br />that $aid rental agency furnishing said vehicles demands they're return on or be-
<br />fore November 10, 1958, and by virtue thereof the acquisition of two police cars
<br />to replace said rental cars is of an emergency nature necessary for the preserva-
<br />tion of the public safety and welfare of the City of North Olmsted.
<br />Section Wherefore, this Resolution shall take immediate effect from
<br />and of er its passage, otherwise' at the earliest period allowed by law.
