CITY OF NORT$ OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. ~~ <br />By Mr . ~~~'~' <br />AN ORDINANCE AME~1'DING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE N0. 809 ENACTED <br />APRIL 4, 1950, BEING AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR PAID VACATIONS <br />kY)R EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY 0~' NORTH OLMSTEH OTHER THAN EMPLOYEES <br />OF THE 1!~TAtICIPAL COACH LINE AND OF THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPART- <br />MENTS OF SAID CITY, AND DECLARING AN EIKLRGENCY. <br />WNERF.a~, Council hae determined that it is only equitable to provide paid <br />vacations for employees of the City of North Olmsted other than employees of the <br />Nksnicipal Coach Line and Fire and Police Departments, so that paid vacations provided <br />for all. employees of said city be similar, <br />NOW, T~RE~'ORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, <br />State of Ohios <br />Section Is That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 809 enacted April 4, 1950, reading <br />as follows: <br />That from and after the effective date of this ordinance, all employees <br />of the Village of North Olmsted, except those employed on the North <br />Olmsted. Municipal hus Line and employees of the Fire Department and <br />Police Department, shall be given the following paid vacations: Those <br />with more than six months' service prior to April 1, 1950 but less than <br />one year shall receive one weeks vacation with pay. Those with more <br />than one year's service shall receive two weeks vacation with pay. <br />be amended to read as follows: <br />That from and after the effective date of this ordinance, all employees <br />of the City of North Olmsted, excepting those employed on the Municipal <br />Coach Line and employees of the Fire Department and Police Department, <br />shall be given the following paid vacations: Those with more than six <br />months' service prior tc September I, 1958, but less thaw one year of <br />service shall receive ane week vaeatipn with pay during the calendar <br />year of 1956. Employees with more than one year's service but less <br />than fifteen years' service shall be entitled 'to and receive two weeks <br />vacation with pay during each calendar year of said employment, and <br />those employees with fifteen or more consecutive years of employment <br />with said city shall thereafter be entitled to antd receive three weeks <br />paid vacation during each calendar year of employment. <br />Section 2s Wherefore, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public welfare of the City of <br />~~ North Olmsted, which emergency exists by virtue of the necessity of providing similar <br />paid vacations for all employees of the City of North Olmsted regardless of department <br />and to better insure the retentions of employees in the service of the City of North. <br />olmstea. <br />Section 3s Wherefore, this ordinance shall take immediate effect and be in <br />force from and after its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />Passed: J -~ r i .~„ <br />~ - 7 <br />ATTEST <br />~ ~~~ <br />E.
