RESOLUTION NO ..~ 7 e c% <br />INTRODUCED BY ~Yyw I~~-'~'1'''-C~''"~ <br />1 <br />A RESOLUTION <br />PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMLSSION TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF NORTH OL~TED, <br />OIiIO , OF THE QUEST ION OF THE APPRQVAL C F .A CONTRACT AND A TAX LEVY FOR THE <br />IMPROVEB~NT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE CO~RUNITY HOSPITAL AT BEREA, OHIO. <br />WHEREAS, several political subdivisions including the City of <br />North Olmsted have heretofore by agreement provided for increasing and main- <br />taining the facilities of The Community Hospital at Berea, Ohio, to care for <br />the sick and disabled of said subdivisions; and <br />~iI~REAS, The Community Hospital has tendered to said subdivisions, <br />including the City of North Olmsted, a renewal of said agreement on said <br />subject covering the years 1958 to 1962, both inclusive, roPhich said agreement <br />provides amAng other things in substance; that the said hospital shall to the <br />extent of its facilities furnish service free to the inhabitants thereof ex- <br />cepting those who in the opinion of a majority of the trustees of said hospital. <br />are a'ole to pay; that eaoh contracting subdivision during the term thereof <br />be entitled to have at least one representative upon the Board of Trusties <br />of the hospital. and that in consideration therefor eaoh subdivision shall <br />cause a tax to be levied for each of the tax years 1958 to 1962, both in- <br />clusive, upon each one dollar of the taxable value of property within the <br />subdivision equal to eight-tenths of one mill thereof per tax year and the <br />payment of the proceeds thereof to the Board of Trustees of said hospital <br />to oe by it expended for the improvement, maintenance and operation o~ said <br />Community Hospital in such manx~sr as in the judgment of its Trustees will <br />best promote the objects of the agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, said renewal agreement has bean duly executed on behalf <br />of this City but by its terms shall not become effective unless and until <br />approved by the electors of this City; and <br />WfiEREAS, the amount of taxes which *nay be raised tivithin the ten <br />mill limitation will be insufficient to provide an adequate amount for the <br />necessary requirements of this subdivision including the amounts to 'oe paid <br />pursuant to said agreement and a tax levy in excess of such limitation is <br />necessary for she purpose aforesaid; <br />NCy9V', THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by:" the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />SECTION I. That the question of tine approval of said rene~~al <br />agreement and levy of such tax be submitted to the electors of the City of <br />North Ol:~sted, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, at the next general election to be held <br />therein, to wit: on the 4th day of November, 1958, at -the usual voting plates <br />within said City of North Olmsted and between the hours provided by law for <br />holding suciz general election. <br />SECTION II. `ihat the ballots to be used for said election <br />shall contain in substance the following language; <br />"A renewal of an agreement and tax for the benefit <br />of the City of North Olmsted for the maintenance and <br />improvement of The Community Hospital at a rate not <br />exceeding eight-texrths (.8) of one (1) mill for each <br />one dollar of valuation which amounts to eight (8) <br />cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation for <br />
