CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FESOLUTION N0. 2672 <br />~, <br />Introduced by: Mrs. MacDonald <br />RESOLUTION AUTH(~IZING THE DIRECT~t t?F' PUBLIC SAFETY <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OE A STATION <br />WAGQN FOR GENERAL USE F3Y THE Pt~LICE DEPARTMENT QF THE <br />CITY OF Nt~tTH OS~STED Ff~t AN AMOUNT NOT TO E <br />~3O00.0O, AND DECLARING AN EI~GE{dCY. <br />WH]~tF~AS, it has been reported to Council that the rental. contract of one <br />of the p©lice cars for the City of North 07msted is about tc3 expire, and <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined impracticable to purchase the vehicle <br />from the Lessor,, Council has authorized and approved the reeom-m~ndation that <br />the Director of Public Safety be authorized to acquire a Station Wagon for <br />an amount not to exceed X3000.00 for general police work as it will also <br />permit its use for ambulance service. <br />NOW, THEREF~tE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL of the City of North Olmsted, <br />State of Ohios <br />Section 1. That the Director of Public Safety be authorized to advertise <br />for bi s for one ~-door 6 passenger 8-cylinder Station Wagon with a <br />horse power rating of 2Ei,5 having standard tranamission~ oil filter, dual wind- <br />shield washers two-tone light color paint, five 6-ply tires and to be further <br />equipped with 2 spot lights with 6" heads, left and right sideview mirrors! <br />standard heater and defroster, turn signals with a 50 Amp heavy duty alternator <br />of Isece-Neville make, heavy duty fan, radiator, sprir~s, shock absorbers and <br />brakes, and equipped with a divided reclining rear seat, not to exceed ~30O0.00. <br />Section 2. Wherefore, this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure scene s`! ary for the public safety and generalwalfare of the City of North <br />Olmsted and such emergency exists by virtue of the immediate necessity of acquiring <br />an additional police car for general use by the Police Department of the City <br />which has determined that a Station Wagon would be best suited for police work <br />including emergency ambulance servie®. <br />Section 3.
