CITY OF NORTH OLNiSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. ~ Co `f ~ <br />~.t~ti~-~r,~ <br />A RESOLUTION AUTH(~tTZIN(~ THE SAFETY DIRECTf~ <br />TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE COUNTY <br />COt~IISSIONERS FO~t DETENTION OF CITY PRISQNERS <br />IN CUYAHOGA GOUNTY JAIZ~ AND DECLARING AN EI~tGENCY. <br />1~kiEREAS, it has been reported to Council that at the present time the <br />City of North Olmsted does not have a contract with the County Commissioners <br />of Cuyahoga County relative to the detention of city priaoAera in the <br />Cuyahoga County Jail, wriich contract must exist prior to the Cuyahoga County <br />Jail accepting prisoners from this municipality. <br />NOW, Tf~?EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of North 0]~nsted, <br />State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That the Safety Director is hereby author3.$ed and directed <br />to enter into a contract with the Cuyahoga County Commissioners relative to the <br />detention of the prisoners of the City of North Olmsted to be detained 3n <br />Cuyahoga County Jail. <br />Section 2: That a copy of said Contract be attached hereto and made a <br />part of this Resolution. <br />Section 3: WHEREFORE, this Resolution is declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, <br />safety and general welfare of the Gity of North Olmsted, and such emergency <br />exists because no contract has been made with this city and with the Board of <br />County Commissioners of Cuyahoga County relative to the detention in Cuyahoga <br />County Jail of prisoners of this city, which has inadequate provisions for the <br />detention of prisoners, and therefore it is imparable that prisoners be adequately <br />cared for. <br />Section !~: WHEREFORE, this Resolution shall take immediate effect from <br />and after its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PAS5EDsi/~ ~~- r 9~~~ <br />ATTEST ' <br />,,,~. <br />er o ounc <br />,~ ,~~~, <br />e en o c <br />APPROVED <br />/~ ~'~ <br />i <br />µ <br />
