GITY OF xoRTx OLI~L5TED <br />a~,DINANCE No. 6 3 s- <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ~DINANCF 2517 <br />ENTI'~IJ:D, "A,N CRDINANCE TO DETEE~+L[NE YdCATIDN PE~tIE1D.S <br />AND R~'xULAR 3 OF THE PENaICB D$PAEtTI~1T," SNACTF.ID <br />JULY 16, 1957, AND DECLARING AN' El~i.GSNGY. <br />WHEFt,EAS, Council has determined it necessary to clarify the language of <br />Section 1 of Oridmms~e 2517 relative to vacation periods for officers and regular <br />members of the Police Department. <br />Nt)4d, THFREF~tE, BE IT CaRDAINLD by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, <br />Stat® of (~io: <br />Section 1: That Section l of Ordee 2517, enacted on the loth day of <br />July, 1957, entitled, "An Ordinance to Determine Vacation Periods for Officers <br />and Regular Members of the Police Department" reading as follows: <br />"That from and after the effective date of this ordinance the officers <br />and regular me~abers of the Police Department of the City of North Olmsted, <br />Ohio, shall be given the following paid vacations: <br />Those with over one years continuous serv~.ice shall receive two <br />weeks paid vacation for each year of servioe. <br />Those with fifteen y care continuous service, or its equivalent, <br />shall receive flares weeks paid vacation each year. <br />The time of said vacations shall be determined by the Chief of the <br />Police Department." <br />be amended to read as follows: <br />That from and after the effective date of this ordinance, the officers <br />and regular members of the Police Department of the City of North 0].msted, <br />Ohio, shall be entitled to paid vacations under the conditions hereinafter <br />set forth: <br />Officers and regulax members of the Police Department of the Gity of <br />North Olmsted, Ohio, upon completion of one years c~-:rtinuous service <br />shall be entitled to two weeks paid vacation each year thereafter <br />until completing the fifteenth year of continuous service in said <br />Department. <br />Officers and regular members of the Police Department having coa~-leted <br />fifteen .years of continu©us service in said Department, or its equivalent, <br />shall receive three :+reeks paid vacation each year thereafter. <br />Officers and regular members of the Police Department shall-make known <br />to the-Chief of the Police Department, his preference for a vacation <br />period, in accordance with instructions des3.grsit®d by tme Chief of the <br />Department for assigxss~nt of vacation periods and shall be allowed said <br />vacation periods as determined by the Chief of the Police Department. <br />Section 2: This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency mreasure <br />necessary for the preservation of the public safety and general welfare of the <br />City of North Olmsted and such emergency eaiats by virtue of the immediate <br />necessity of clarifying paragraph 1 of Section 1 of Ordinance 2517, permitting <br />the Ghiaf of the Police Departaseat to more efficiently establish vacation periods <br />for officers and regular members of said Police Department. <br />.. _ , _. _ .-~_.,,._,.,.,.. ,... ~ ~_ f <br />
