2 g Fire Department 141.04 <br />(1) One Chief of Fire Department <br />(2) One Assistant Chief of Fire Department <br />(3) Two Lieutenants of Fire Department <br />(4) Such number of regular and full time firemen as determined by the Director <br />of Public Safety, to be classified as follows: <br />Firemen First Class -regular and full time firemen having continuous <br />service of more than two years. <br />Firemen Second Class -regular and full time firemen having continuous <br />service bf two years. <br />Firemen Third Class -regular and full time firemen having continuous <br />service of one year. <br />(5) Such number of part time firemen as determined by the Safety Director, not <br />exceeding twenty-five. (Ord. 2532. Passed 8-20-57.) <br />(b) The Fire Department as constituted herein shall be classified by the. Director <br />of Public Safety as required by law. (Ord. 1038. Passed 6-9-53.) <br />141.03 VACATIONS. <br />The officers and full time members of the Fire Department of the City shall be entitled <br />to paid vacations under the conditions herein set forth: <br />(a) Officers and members of the department, employed on a full time basis, upon <br />completion of one year of full time employment in the department, shall be <br />entitled to two weeks paid vacation each year thereafter until completing the tenth <br />~' year of continuous full time employment in the department. <br />(b) Officers and members having completed ten years of continuous employment as <br />full time members shall receive three weeks paid vacation each year thereafter, <br />until completing the twentieth year of continuous full time employment as a member <br />of the department. A member, upon completion of the twentieth year of such <br />continuous full time employment in the department, shall be entitled to four weeks <br />paid vacation for each year thereafter of such continuous full-time employment. <br />(c) For the purposes of computing vacation periods, it shall be clearly understood <br />that no credit is to be given for any service given to the department by a member <br />of the department as a part time employee, but the service to be computed in <br />determining vacations shall be for that continuous service rendered by a member <br />only after his appointment to the department as a full time employee . <br />(d) Officers and full time employees of the Fire Department shall make known to the <br />.;~w. Fire Chief his preference for a vacation period, in accordance with the instructions <br />~'~~` designated by the Fire Chief for assignment of vacation periods, and shall be <br />allowed such vacation periods as determined by the Fire Chief. <br />(Ord. 3059. Passed 7-5-60. ) <br />141.04 HOLIDAYS. <br />In addition to the established vacation with pay received each year, all regular members <br />of the Fire Department of the City, including officers, shall during each calendar year <br />receive six days off duty with pay. The scheduling of days off duty shall be determined <br />by and with the approval of the Fire Chief. (Ord. 2046. Passed 9-23-54.) <br />
