313.03 TRAFFIC CODE 16 <br />(d) Provision for the erection of stop signs need not be made at intersections so <br />canstructed as to permit traffic to safely enter a through street without coming to a stop. <br />Signs shall be erected at such intersections indicating that the operator of a vehicle shall <br />yield the right of way or merge with all traffic proceeding on the through street. <br />(ORC 4511.65) <br />313.03 TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL TERMS AND LIGHTS. <br />Whenever traffic is controlled by traffic control signals exhibiting the words "go", <br />"caution", or "stop", or exhibiting different colored lights successively one at a time, <br />or controlled with arrows, the following colors only shall be used and the terms and <br />lights shall indicate and apply to operators of vehicles and pedestrians as follows: <br />(a) Green alone or "go" signal: <br />(1) Pedestrians facing the signal may proceed across the roadway within any <br />marked or unina.rlced crosswalk; <br />(2) All other traffic facing the signal except as provided under Section 331.09 <br />may proceed straight through or turn right or left, unless a sign at such place <br />prohibits either such turn. But such traffic shall yield. the right of way to~ <br />vehicles lawfully within the intersection and to pedestrians lawfully within a <br />crosswalk at the time such signal is exhibited. <br />(b) Yellow alone or "caution" when shown following the green or "go" signal: <br />(1) No pedestrian facing such signal shall enter the roadway; <br />(2) All other traffic facing the signal is warned that the red or "stop" signal <br />will be exhibited immediately thereafter, and that pedestrians proceeding in <br />accordance with traffic control signals shall have the right of way. <br />(c) Yellow alone or "caution" when shown following the red or "stop" signal: <br />(1) Pedestrians facing the signal may proceed across the roadway within any <br />marked or unmarked crosswalk; <br />(2) All other traffic facing the signal shall stop and shall remain standing until <br />the green or "go" signal is shown alone. <br />(d) Red alone or "stop" sign.~.l: <br />(1) No pedestrian facing such signal shall enter the roadway; <br />(2) All other traffic facing the signal shall stop before entering the intersection <br />and shall remain standing until authorized to proceed by a traffic control device. <br />(e) Traffic control device authorizing turn with red or "stop" signal: <br />(1) No pedestrian facing such signal shall enter the roadway; <br />(2) All other traffic facing such. signal may cautiously enter the intersection <br />only to make the movement indicated by the traffic control device but shall <br />yield the right of way to pedestrians lawfully within a crosswalk and to other <br />traffic lawfully using the intersection. <br />(f) Green arrow alone: <br />All traffic facing such signal may enter the intersection only to make the move- <br />ment indicated by such arrow but shall yield the right of way to pedestrians ]aw- <br />fully within a crosswalk and to other traffic lawfully using the intersection. <br />(g) Changing signals . <br />Any traffic lawfully upon the roadway within an intersection at the time a traffic <br />control signal changes may continue cautiously through the intersection with due <br />regard for the safety and rights of all persons using the roadway.
