331.08 TRAFFIC CODE 22 <br />331.08 FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY. <br />The operator of a motor vehicls shall not follow another vehicle more closely than <br />is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicle, and the <br />traffic upon and the condition of the street. (ORC 4511.34) <br />331.09 'TURNING AT INTERSECTIONS. <br />The driver of a vehicle intending to turn at an intersection shall be governed by the <br />following rules: <br />(a) Approach for a right turn and a right turn shall be made as close as practicable <br />to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway. <br />(b) At any i~ersection where traffic is permitted to move in both directions on each <br />roadway entering the intersection, an approach for a left turn shall be made in <br />that portion of the right half of .the roadway nearest the center line thereof and <br />by passing~to the right of such center line where it enters the intersection and <br />after entering the intersection the left turn shall be made so as to leave the inter- <br />section to the right of the center line of the roadway being entered. Whenever <br />practicable the left turn shall be made in that portion of the intersection to the <br />left of the center of the intersection. <br />(c) At any intersection where traffic is restricted to one direction on one or more <br />of the roadways, the driver of a vehicle intending to turn left at any such inter- <br />section shall approach the intersection in the extreme left-hand lane lawfully <br />available to traffic moving in the direction of travel of such vehicle, and after <br />°~ entering the intersection the left turn shall be made so as to leave the intersection, <br />as nearly as practicable, in the left-hand lane of the roadway being entered <br />la.wfull~y available to the traffic moving in that lane. <br />(d) Markers, buttons, or signs may be placed within or adjacent to intersections <br />and thereby require and direct that a different course from that specified in this <br />section,be traveled by vehicles turning at an intersection, and when markers, <br />buttons, or signs are so placed, no operator of a vehicle shall turn such vehicle <br />at an intersection other than as directed and required by such markers, buttons, <br />or signs. (ORC 4511.36; Ord. 613. Passed 7-7-42.) <br />331.10 "U" TURNS RESTRICTED. <br />No vehicle shall be turned so as to proceed in the opposite direction upon any street <br />in a business district, or upon any curve, or upon the approach to or near the crest of <br />a grade, if such vehicle cannot be seen within five hundred feet by the driver of any other <br />~~ vehicle approaching from either direction. (ORC 4511.37; Ord. 613. Passed 7-7-42.) <br />331.11 STARTING AND BACKING VEHICLES. <br />(a) No person shall start a vehicle which is stopped, standing, or parked until such <br />movement can be made with reasonable safety. <br />(b) Before backing, operators of vehicles shall give ample warning, and while <br />backing they shall exercise. vigilance not to injure person or property on the street or <br />highway .
