,,.. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 61 -``~~ <br />BY ~~ :.._!~ t~ <br />AN RDINANCE AMIIdDING SUB-SECTION c of SECTION 1 <br />OF ORDINANCE 319 ENACTED DECENIDER. 20, 1960, BEING <br />ENTITLED 'SAN ORDINANCE PftUVIDII~ FDR THE GENERAL <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE ODI~TRUCTION, LAYING AND <br />CONNEGTI1Js OF ALL BUIIDING SANITARY SEWERS, STD <br />FIXI?~G STANDARD THEREFORE, AND DECLARING AN EP~RGENCY" . <br />WHEREAS, in the actual installation of all building sanitary sewers <br />and con~etions it has been determined that the provision for the line location <br />contained in the general specifications for the construction, laying and con- <br />necting of sanitary sewers should not be as specific as provided in Ordinance <br />3191,, but ghat each building or structure to be connected should be separately <br />con$idered to the end that the owners of said building planning to be connected <br />to the sanitary sewer system of the City shall have the opportunity of securing <br />the most economical connection, and further that said connection or building <br />sewer should be so planned to eliminates insofar as it is possible, the entrance <br />of any storm waters into the sanitary sewer system, <br />NOW, 'giEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Gity of North <br />Olms ted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1: That Sub-Section c of Section 1 of Ordinance 3191, enacted <br />December 20: 1960, entitled "An Ordinance Providing for the General Specifications <br />for the Constructions Laying and Connection of all Building Sanitary Sewers, and <br />Fi~dng Standard Therefore, and Declaring an Emergency", reading as follows: <br />"c. Line Loc anon <br />1h~e~ui~sewer shall not be layed or located within five <br />feet of a water service pipe. <br />The building sewer shall be brought to the building at an ele- <br />vation below the basement floor. No building sewer shall be <br />laid parallel to or within five (5) feet of any bearing wall. <br />The depth shall be sufficient to a#~ord protection from frost* <br />in no event shall the cover over the sewer be less than three <br />(3) feet." <br />be amended to read as follows: <br />"c. Lire Location <br />The building sewer shall not be laid or located within five <br />(~) feet of a water service pipe, <br />The building sewer shall be brought to the building at an <br />elevation determined necessary to adequately serve the prem- <br />ises, insuring in the construction of said building sdwer <br />that it wi 11 not disturb, destroy or impair ax~y bearing <br />walls that it will be at a sufficient depth to afford protection <br />from frost, which it is determined would require a depth of at <br />least (3) fest~ and in such a manner as to insure the prevention <br />of the discharge of storm waters into said building sanitary <br />sewer and the saanita-xy sewer system of the City. Council <br />intends hereby not to require the building sewer to be at <br />an elevation below the basement floor unless in the opinion <br />of the Service Director or his representative there will <br />not be discharged into said building sewer or the sanitary <br />sewer of the City, any storm waters. The elevation of said <br />building sewer shall be approved by the Service Director or his <br />representative, permitting the most economical construction of <br />said building sewer for the benefit of the owner of the <br />premises to be so severed, and in full compliance with the <br />ordi nances and resolutions of the City, regulations of the <br />County Board of Healthy and in conformity with the requirements <br />of the Ohio Board of Po13.ution Control," <br />
