GITY OF NOi~,TH OLT~STED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 61 - ~D.~J <br />By <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING-.'FOR THE SiJ~1ISSION TO THE ELECTORS <br />OF THB CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED THE (JUFSTION OF AMENDING SEQ'- <br />TION 1 OF ARTICLE IV AND SECTION 7 OF _ARTICLE IX OF THE <br />CITY C ?AR.TER. <br />~~REAS, on the 15th day of August, 196]., a petition to amend the <br />Charter of the City of North Olristed was presented to Council purporting to <br />contain signatures of petitioners constituting ten percent (10~) or more of <br />the total qualified electors voting at the last regular municipal election in <br />the City of North Olmsted, and which petition requested that there be presented <br />for submission to the elector§ of this City the question of amending Section 1 <br />of Article N and Section 7 of Article IX of the City Charter, and <br />W`TGREAS, the Clerk of Council was requested to verify the validity <br />of the signatures appearing on said petition, and <br />!~?FR:~AS, the Clerlt of Council has completed said check of the sig- <br />natures appearing on said petition and has reported to Council t'_iat said <br />petition does contain valid signatures constituting ten percent (lU~) or more <br />of the qualified electors voting at the last regular municipal election, and <br />TnT'-~REAS, pursuant to the provisions of the City Charter, tie Consti- <br />tution of t~~e State of Ohio, Council is required to submit to the electors of <br />tiie City for a~?proval or disapproval as soon as possible according to law, the <br />question of amending Section 1 of Article IV and Section 7 of Article IX of tine <br />CitT• Charter, <br />BF IT ORijAlry, D BY Tii~~ Council of the City of North Olmsted, estate of <br />Ohio, three-fourths of all members elected thereto concurring: <br />Section 1: Shall Section l of Article TV and Section 7 of Artiele IX <br />of the City Charter be amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 1 of Article IV: Number and Terms. <br />All legislative powers of this CitzT, except as otherwise pro- <br />vided by this charter and by the Constitution of tt~e State of <br />Ohio, shall be vested in a Council of six members, each of whom <br />shall be an elector of and elected from one of the wards, here- <br />inafter established: <br />All wards to be situated in the City of North Olmsted, County <br />of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio; being; furtier described as <br />follows: <br />WARD I <br />Beginning at the intersection of t'~e center lines of Lorain <br />Road and aJalter Road; thence Northerly along the center line <br />of b~alter Road to the Northerly line of the City; thence [:ast <br />along the Northerly line of the City to the center line of <br />Claque Road; tizence, Northerly along the center line of Claque <br />Road to the Northerly City line; thence, Easterly along the <br />Tdortnerly line of the City to the easterly line of the City; <br />thence, Southerly along the Ta;asterl-T line of the City to the <br />center line of Lorain Road; thence, ~Jesterly along the center <br />line of Lorain Road to the place of beginning. <br />
