signs shall be also in accordance with the provisions of the <br />Building Code of the municipality. <br />The provisions of this Chapter shall not mend or in any <br />way interfere with any other code, rule, or regulation governing <br />traffic, or other signs erected by public authority within the <br />municipality. <br />-~ <br />The display of official public notices, the flag, emblem <br />or insignia of a political unit, or .signs erected by a public <br />authority within the .street shall not be governed by the <br />provisions of this Title. Temporary displays or signs in <br />connection with a charity drive or to advocate the election of <br />a candidate or candidates or the passage or disapproval of an <br />issue shall not be governed by the provisions of this Title <br />provided the same are removed within ten days of the completion <br />of the drive or the election involved, but the license for <br />erection of such signs shall be considered personal to the one <br />erecting the s~;gn and the failure to remove as required shall <br />be deemed a violation of this Code by the person erecting the <br />same. <br />CHAPTER 1223 ~ DEFINITIONS AND MEAS~REMBNT STANDARDS <br />1223.D1 Definitions <br />Signs, their definitions, and type as to design and content <br />as used in this Chapter are defined as follows: <br />(A) Sign - A structure or part thereof, or any <br />device attached to or painted directly or <br />indirectly on a structure or parcel of land, <br />and which shall display or include any letter, <br />model, banner, pennant, insignia, device or <br />other representation to direct attention to <br />a person, institution, organization, activity, <br />place, object, product or business. <br />82 ~* <br />
